Western Washington University has a rich tradition in women's athletics. From the earliest days of the institution, women played sports of all kinds, both casually and competitively. This collection presents images of that tradition, in support of the celebration of Women in Sport at Western.

Searching the Database

Enter a search term, such as a personal name or topic (e.g. basketball) to search across all of the database fields. Search results display as a series of small images for browsing, both backward and forward. To view the larger image and its corresponding description, double click on the small image. Any highlighted text in the description accompanying the larger image is searchable; just click.

Selecting Browse on the menu bar will display the entire collection in small images, arranged chronologically

Creating the Database

The Women in Sport at Western database is an initiative of Western Washington University Libraries Special Collections.
