Whittington Collection of Asian Ceramics
The Whittington Collection of Asian Ceramics database contains images and descriptions of more than 200 Asian ceramics donated to Western in 1987 by Floyd and Carol Whittington. The collection includes Chinese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese ceramics of considerable antiquity as well as pieces of more recent periods.
Searching the Database
Enter a search term, such as a geographic category (e.g. Chinese) or a descriptive term (such as stoneware) to search across all of the database fields. Search results display as a series of small images for browsing, both backward and forward. To view the larger image and its corresponding description, double click on the small image. Any highlighted text in the description accompanying the larger image is searchable; just click.
Selecting Browse on the menu bar will display the entire collection in small images, arranged alphabetically by the title of each object.
